The Odds
TwinSpires Sportsbook uses the American odds system by default. The price of the wager is graded based on a scale of $100. Payouts for a wager will scale up and down according to the amount risked.
The minus sign (-) denotes the favorite and indicates how much a player has to wager in order to win $100. A $100 wager on -165 odds would win $60.61 (total return of $160.61). A $165 wager on -165 odds would win $100.
The plus sign (+) indicates how much a player would win if they wagered $100. A $100 wager on +130 odds would win $130 (total return of $230). A $50 wager on +130 odds would win $65 (total return of $115).
Moneyline
The Moneyline is a bet on the straight up winner of the game - it's as simple as that. Bet on who you think is going to win the game.
Point Spread
A popular market on sports like Football and Basketball, the Point Spread is the forecasted point differential between two teams. A minus (-) indicates the favorite, while a plus (+) represents the underdog.
In the below example, if you bet the favorite, Green Bay Packers -3.5 on the Point Spread, they need to win by 4 or more points for your bet to be a winner.
Conversley, if you bet the underdog, Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3.5 on the Point Spread, they need to win the game OR lose by 3 points or less to be a winner.

Total Points (Over/Under)
Bet on the Total Points scored in a matchup by both teams. You wager on the score going OVER the total or UNDER the combined total points for both teams.

Prop Bets
Prop Bets are a great way to get into the game! Wager on a specific occurrence happening, or not happening, within a game. "Prop" is short for proposition, and also commonly referred to as "side bets."
Props can be found throughout the website. On the event page, use the market selector to choose the type of props that you are interested in.

Parlay Bets
Parlay Bets, also referred to as a Combination bet, is when a bettor combines multiple straight bets to increase the payout of their wager. All selections in the parlay must succeed for the bet to win, however this gives the bettor the change for a big payday!
Outrights / Futures
An Outright wager is a bet on the outcome of a particular event in the distant future, typically a league championship or tournament winner. For example, a player can wager on the winner of the Super Bowl prior to the start of the season, and all throughout the regular season. During the season, odds can and will change as games are played, as teams win/lose, trades and injuries happen, etc.
Futures can be parlayed by adding multiple selections to the betslip for the potential of a big payout!
